I strongly believe these ancient and powerful practices can be shared in ways that are both inclusive and accessible to children with diverse needs and backgrounds including:

Why yoga for children and adults with autism?
Individuals with autism and other diverse needs can learn coping strategies through the practice of yoga so they may live calmer, happier, peaceful, and healthy lives.
The practice of yoga for children and adults with autism and other diverse needs teaches many skills, but arguably the most crucial element is teaching them processing and coping skills. It can teach them how to respond to stress, worry, anxiety and depression. Many individuals with language processing difficulties and/or sensory integration dysfunction (difficulty with sensory processing) experience greater levels of anxiety and sometimes depression, so learning how to cope with these difficulties is crucial. They can be in a constant state of heightened arousal or anxiety or they may shut down.
