Professional Training Programme Overview

The RDI® Professional Training Programme is a comprehensive certification journey that combines developmental neuroscience, relationship-based practice, practical application, personalised mentoring, and supervised clinical experience. Delivered in three integrated stages, the programme is designed to develop your knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence as a Certified RDI® Consultant.

Part I – Foundations

12-Week Live Online Programme

During this 12-week live online programme, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the RDI® model and its developmental framework.

The curriculum explores:

  • Developmental Neuroscience,
  • Dynamic Intelligence,
  • Autism,
  • Child Development,
  • Communication,
  • Emotional Regulation,
  • Relationship Development Assessment,
  • Guiding Relationships,

Part II – Professional Supervision

Supervised Clinical Practice

During the supervision phase, you will apply your learning by working directly with two families under the guidance of an experienced RDI® Training Supervisor.

Through 14 structured supervision projects, personalised mentoring, video feedback, and practical guidance, you will develop the confidence, competence, and clinical skills required to implement the RDI® model in professional practice.

Part 2 Professional Supervision

Part III –  Masterclass

Two Live Online Training Weekends

The Masterclass builds on your clinical experience and professional supervision, preparing you for independent practice as a Certified RDI® Consultant.

Across two live online training weekends, you will:

  • Strengthen your consultation skills and clinical reasoning,
  • Explore advanced RDI® consultation tools,
  • Work through complex clinical cases
  • Learn about dyadic interactions,
  • Deepen your understanding of professional accountability, ethics, and professional standards,
  • Develop the knowledge and strategies needed to establish, manage, and grow a successful RDI® practice.

Programme Outcomes

By the end of the RDI® Professional Training Programme, you will have the knowledge, practical skills, and professional confidence to work independently as a Certified RDI® Consultant.

You will be able to:

  • Conduct comprehensive RDI® assessments and identify developmental priorities.
  • Design and implement individualised RDI® programmes for children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Coach parents and caregivers to create meaningful everyday learning opportunities.
  • Support the development of Dynamic Intelligence, flexible thinking, communication, emotional regulation, and resilience.
  • Apply the RDI® model confidently within your existing professional practice or establish an independent RDI® consultancy.
  • Deliver RDI® consultations both online and in person.
  • Work ethically and professionally in accordance with international RDI® standards.

FAQ

Do I need previous RDI® experience?
No. Previous RDI® experience is not required for professionals. The programme is designed to guide you from the foundations of the RDI® model through to supervised practice and professional certification. Parents who wish to apply must have completed a minimum of six months of an RDI® Family Consultation Programme with a Certified RDI® Consultant.
The duration varies depending on your pace through the supervision process. Most trainees complete the programme within 12–18 months, although some may complete it more quickly or take additional time depending on their professional commitments.
Yes. The programme is designed for working professionals. Most trainees complete the training alongside their existing employment or private practice.
The RDI® Professional Training Programme has a standard tuition fee that is the same worldwide, regardless of where you live. Part I – Foundations: US $2,500 Part II – Professional Supervision: US $3,500 Part III – Masterclass: US $2,500 Following acceptance onto the programme, you will receive full enrolment and payment information. Yes. Certification is just the beginning. As part of the international RDI® professional community, you will have opportunities for continued learning, mentoring, professional supervision, conferences and collaboration with consultants around the world, allowing you to continue developing your skills throughout your career.
You will receive supervision from an experienced RDI® Training Supervisor while working with two families. Throughout the supervision process, you will receive personalised feedback, mentoring and guidance to help you develop confidence and competence as an RDI® Consultant.
Yes. Certified RDI® Consultants work with families around the world, both online and in person. You may choose to integrate RDI® into your current professional role or develop your own independent consultation practice.
Certification involves successfully completing all three stages of the Professional Training Programme: Part I – Foundations Part II – Professional Supervision Part III – Advanced Professional Training / Masterclass Upon successful completion of all requirements, you will receive certification as a Certified RDI® Consultant.
