What are the goals I should work on with my child?
One of the hardest steps for many parents is choosing the right goal to work on with their child. We often hear about academic goals set for the child at school, but what about goals for kids with different leaning styles at home?
Children learn the most at home with their parents. It is so important to be aware of that and use every opportunity at home with kids to teach them different executive functioning and independent skills.
Don’t let everyday opportunities slip away for the growth of your child. Through RDI education programme, parents learn how to choose goals for their child and create the right strategies to reach those goals.
Goals for your child can include things like: focus, flexibility, problem solving, working memory, adaptable thinking, self-monitoring, and self-control.
I always say to parents and educators; it’s about as bringing that awareness, choosing one goal at the time especially at the beginning and staying consistent. The child’s progress begins with the parent/ guardian’s mindset.
