Setting up a successful game or activity with neurodivergent kids - part 1
Setting up a successful game or activity with neurodivergent kids – 1/4 In order to set up a successful game or activity for neurodivergent children, you need to be able to visualise you and the child doing the activity together. Vision is so important. Can I visualise that my child can do this or doing this activity in the future? Many times, parents come to me saying: “I’ve been told to do this activity with my child, but I don’t believe we can do it…or that in the future we will be able to do it…”
When I work with parents, we spend a lot of time working on vision. Vison includes two ways of believing – I can do it with my child and my child can do it. If you feel like you are stuck in this first step, seek out professional help. It is ok if you find a consultant who will guide you.
